Get clarity on insurance, timelines, and important platform rules
Timeline
Treka does not sell, broker, or underwrite any form of insurance. While obtaining liability insurance is not mandatory to use the platform, it is strongly encouraged for all guides offering services through Treka. Any insurance products accessed via the Treka platform are provided solely by independent, third-party insurers. The purchase, use, and enforcement of any such insurance policies are entirely between the guide and the provider. Treka assumes no responsibility or liability for coverage terms, claim outcomes, policy disputes, or any related matters.
During our beta phase, guides keep 100% of their earnings — no platform fees, no cuts. After launch, founding guides lock in exclusive lifetime rates: solo guides keep 90% of what they earn, while others keep 80%. And for the first 5 solo guides, it’s 100% earnings for life — zero platform fees, forever. It’s our way of supporting the guides who helped build Treka from the start.
All beta bookings are fully supported with customer service, payment processing, and our platform tools. Your reputation and reviews built during beta carry over to the full launch, giving you a head start over guides who join later.
We're starting with Washington State, Oregon, and Northern California. Additional regions (Colorado, Utah, Montana) launch Q4 2025. Guides in other areas can join the waitlist and help us prioritize expansion to their region.
Our verification process includes: Valid certifications (WFR, Wilderness First Aid, etc.), Background check, Reference verification, and Skills assessment. The process takes 3-5 business days and founding members get priority processing.
Our gear rental marketplace launches alongside insurance in Q3 2025. Guides can list their own gear for rent, and we'll partner with local outdoor retailers. Founding members get priority placement and reduced rental fees.
