About this trip
There’s so much terrain to explore in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We can help you experience hiking and backpacking adventures in the Presidential Range, on Mount Chocorua, Franconia Notch, and many others. We can include overnights as well…ranging from primitive camping to shelters or full-service huts.
This course is available as a private, pre-existing group, or via our flexible booking option (we’ll try to match you with other hikers/backpackers). If you’d like to do an overnight(s), you can book multiple days below (and we’ll work out the additional details/payment) or contact us to book offline.

What to bring
- Sturdy, broken-in hiking boots
- Layered clothing suitable for rapidly changing mountain weather (moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers, waterproof outer shell)
- Backpack (25-35 liters) with rain cover
- 3 liters of water capacity (hydration reservoir and/or water bottles)
- Ample high-energy snacks and a packed lunch
- Sunscreen and sunglasses
- Hat for sun protection and warmth
- Gloves/mittens (even in summer)
- Headlamp with extra batteries
- Map and compass or GPS device (optional, guide will have these)
- Trekking poles (highly recommended)

Cancellation policy
Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance are non-refundable. In the event of severe weather that makes the trip unsafe, Synnott Mountain Guides reserves the right to reschedule or offer a full refund.
