Most booking platforms charge a percentage of every booking, sometimes with a fixed amount on top, sometimes with a monthly software fee as well. Some charge it to the guest at checkout, some take it out of the operator's payout, and some bundle card processing into the number while others bill it separately. Written as a per-booking percentage it looks small. Multiplied across a season it is usually the largest software cost an operator has.
The calculator turns your inputs into a yearly figure: the platform fees you absorb, the software you pay for, and the card processing on top. On the Treka side the arithmetic comes from the published pricing: the booking fee is 3%, it is added at checkout and paid by the guest, and card processing is Stripe's standard rate billed at cost. The plan is the only fixed charge, shown for Core and for Pro.
The two large numbers are what you, the operator, pay in a year on each side. Fees your guests pay are shown separately because they are not your cost, though they do change the price a guest sees, so compare like with like: if your current platform charges the guest, look at the guest line too.
Card processing appears on both sides unless you tell the calculator it is already inside your current fee. Stripe charges on the full amount the card is charged, so on Treka it is applied to the trip price plus the guest's 3%.
If the difference is real money, the next step is a thirty-minute walkthrough on your own trips, or a free account you can set up yourself in an afternoon. Trips import from your existing website, and your guests keep booking while you move.

Talk to usNo. The 3% booking fee is added at checkout and paid by the guest. Your payout is the trip price less Stripe's card processing, which is billed at cost with no markup on top.
Yes. Each company chooses whether the fee is added at checkout or folded into the displayed price. The calculator shows the guest-pays model, which is the default.
Because every platform that takes cards pays a card network. Some bundle that cost into their fee and some bill it on top. Tick the box if yours is bundled and the calculator removes it from your current side.
Treka's pricing is public: 30 days of Core free, then Core at $99 a month or $79 a month billed yearly, Pro at $399 a month or $329 a month billed yearly. A 3% booking fee is added at checkout and paid by the guest, and Stripe's card processing (2.9% + 30¢) is billed at cost with no markup.
