The Treka portal is built for the phone you carry to the put-in. Install it to your home screen, open it full screen with bottom tabs, check the roster at the trailhead, and get an email the moment a booking lands. No app store required.

How it works
Open the portal on your phone and tap Install app in the sidebar. On Android and desktop browsers that opens the install dialog; on iPhone it shows the Share, then Add to Home Screen steps. The icon lands next to your other apps.
The installed portal opens full screen, without browser bars, with a bottom tab bar for the sections you use most and a drawer for the rest. Full-screen tasks such as creating a trip keep their own action bar.
Today's departures, who is booked, whose waiver is signed, who has paid, and the guide assigned, all on one screen. Check guests in as they arrive.
Choose the events that email you: a new booking, a cancellation, a modified booking, a date change request, a custom trip request, a refund request, a new review, a processed payout. Each is its own switch.
What you get
The portal is an installable web app. It is always the current version, on iPhone, Android and desktop, with nothing to download from a store.
Bottom tabs, large targets, safe areas around notches and home bars, and a command palette to jump anywhere by typing.
Once installed, the app opens to its shell when the network is unreachable instead of a browser error page. Live data still needs a connection, so what loaded last stays on screen until it returns.
Bookings, trips, clients, waivers, payouts, gear, merch and gift cards all work on the phone; the layout adapts rather than hiding features.
Notification preferences are per event, so the owner can be emailed about every booking while a guide hears only about assignments.
A guide who installs the app sees their assignments, rosters and trip reports, with the office's tabs hidden by their role.
In the portal
Who uses it
Silverpine Adventures, a fictional operator, opens the day's roster on a phone at the boat ramp, sees two unsigned waivers, and sends the links before the guests reach the dock.
An email arrives for a new booking while the owner is on the river. The booking is already on the calendar with its deposit taken; nothing needs doing until the evening.
A guide finishes a hike, opens the app, files the trip report with conditions and attendance, and is done before the drive home.
Guides change phones, share phones, and work in places where a 200 MB update is not going to happen. A web app installed from the browser is light, always current, and identical on every device, and it can be installed by a seasonal guide in the parking lot with no account on a store.
It also means the whole portal is there. There is no second, smaller product to maintain, so a feature that ships for the desk ships for the trailhead the same day.
Backcountry put-ins do not have bars. The installed app keeps its shell cached, so it opens rather than failing, and whatever was on screen before the signal dropped stays readable. Anything that needs the server, such as a new booking or a payment, waits until you are back in coverage. We say that plainly because the alternative, a promise of offline booking, would not be true.

Book a demoThe portal is an installable web app rather than a store app. Install it from the portal sidebar on your phone and it behaves like an app: a home screen icon, full screen, bottom tabs.
Open the portal in Safari, tap Install app in the sidebar, then follow the two steps it shows: Share, then Add to Home Screen.
The installed app opens without a connection and keeps what was last on screen readable. Anything that reads or writes live data, such as a new booking or a payment, needs a connection.
Alerts arrive by email for the events you switch on in notification preferences: new, cancelled and modified bookings, date change and custom trip requests, refund requests, new reviews and processed payouts.
Yes. Each team member installs the same app and sees what their role allows: guides see assignments, rosters and trip reports.
No feature is removed. The layout changes to tabs and stacked panels, and a few long tasks such as building a trip keep their own step-by-step action bar.
